Oh and finally I'm 100% NOT saying that most reviewers are, in their personal lives, trash people with less potential than a microwaved hamster. And I'm definitely NOT saying that most reviewers of sci-fi or fantasy never mentally progressed from their teen years. I'm NOT saying that if you've written a review on this site, there's a 90% chance you have brain damage. Now I'm NOT saying that most reviewers on audible are half-baked idiots who would be fascinated with a bug zapper. I will be listening many times.I can't tell you how many idiotic reviewers have tricked me into listening to terrible books here. this book in the series is much heavier at times with some larger and more complex story archs taking place but Matt did it right by pacing it all and mixing in some laughs. they are also hilariously wonderful, sometimes subtle sometimes obvious and over the top, but always funny. now having said all the above, these books are FANTASTIC, Matt Dinniman has an amazing way of slowly presenting just enough details so you can draw your own conclusion without having to spell it out for you. he has an amazing range of voices and an awesome ability to give them ALL a life of their own. if you have ever listened to any book read by Jeff hayes, you know the quality of the narration is beyond reproach.

and the information presented is done in an interactive way relative to the character more part of the story. it spends just enough time talking about stats and skills without the narrator having to read through a spreadsheet which can be tedious. This series should be the standard for this genreĪs litrpg's go this book has it in the right portions, this is book 4 and the characters are not OP, however they are still steadily growing. Just an amazing read and I cannot wait for the next. I do this frequently (when I'm alone haha) and it really does help. Pause the book and process things when something wild or heavy goes down. Here is a tip for any new audible listeners. However I was enthralled and able to process this wonder filled story with so many layers, astounded by the scope the author was able to imagine. I was on the edge of my seat and could listen for hours asking myself 'how are they going to get out of this mess?' If any reviews say it is too complicated to follow, I'm sorry you aren't intelligent enough for this series. Instead you see exactly how the horrors and challenges mold him into what he becomes. Never is there a point where he does something out of character.

The growth of Carl into what he becomes is step by step. The story is thrilling and the narration is flawless. I was never bored and could listen for hours on end. This may be my favorite litrpg audio book I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
